Adebanji was born in London in 1972 and is one of the UK art world’s
fast-rising stars. His recent awards include:

He
studied painting in Nigeria at Yaba College of Technology from 1992
to 1997, where he finished as the Overall Award winning student. He
also studied at The Heatherley School of Fine Art, Chelsea, from
2003-2005, where he also finished as the Overall Award winning
student.
Adebanji has sketched and painted almost all his life and he
currently works full time as a painter from his studio in Chelsea.
Whether he works indoors or outdoors, he strives to bring the life,
vitality and movement of the sketch into his paintings. He
sometimes refers to his paintings as colour sketches as they capture
the feelings of the scene as seen with all the life in it!
His
works have been exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London with the
Royal Society of Portrait painters, Royal Society of British
artists, The Pastel Society and The Royal Institute of Oil Painters
of which he is currently a Provisional member. He has recently been
nominated as part of the Judging panel for the Bath Prize, 2010. |
