Born in Brittany in
1959, Bruno is a self-taught artist whose work was born out of the
necessity to express emotions, thoughts and feelings. For years, he
has developed his inner pictorial language: a romantic echo to his
life experiences, between tumult and harmony. His semi-abstract
landscapes reflect his love for unspoilt, wide stretches of land
where nature prevails. Yet, rather than a specific depiction of a
place, they are mainly an evocation.
Other pieces he
composes are a spiritual response to music which can also be
interpreted as an allegory or a metaphor for psychological states.
No matter what he
creates, the “real” subject is often a personal response to his
world through paint and medium, shapes and marks. As he says:
painting will always be a journey of exploration and self-discovery.
This is what stimulates me.
Bruno’s art pulsates
between the seen and envisioned, the figurative and the abstract.
Filled with a deep sense of atmosphere and space, his powerful
paintings draw the viewer into a place of contemplation.
A painter and a
printmaker, Bruno is a regular exhibitor at the Royal Birmingham
Society of Artists and has had his work widely shown in Britain as
well as in America and Germany. |
