Cathie Bleck, who lives in Cleveland, Ohio, comes from a family of
artists, including both her parents and seven of her nine siblings.
She received her BFA from University of Illinois, and has lectured
and conducted workshops throughout North and South America.
Her distinctive style has been commissioned by Time, Business Week,
Esquire, Warner Brothers Records, The New York Times, Wall Street
Journal and National Geographic. Her work has also graced the covers
of over 100 books, and was selected for ‘Women in Illustration -
Contemporary Visions and Voices’ at the Norman Rockwell Museum.
Cathie’s work has won numerous awards, including American
Illustration (12 volumes) and the Society of Illustrators’ 2005 Gold
Medal. A book of her drawings was published in 2006, which will
certainly increase the appreciation and recognition of her work.
In 2008, she held a
retrospective exhibition at The New Britain Museum of American Art,
featuring over thirty of her works on paper and paintings from 1994
through 2007. |
