David Farrant was born in London in 1938, but now lives and works in
Devon. He started his career as a portrait painter, building a
reputation with over 20 commissions; he was a finalist in the John
Player at the National Gallery and has also exhibited at the Royal
Society of Portrait Painters, Mall Galleries and the Royal Academy.
For some time now, David has preferred to concentrate on his
large-format figurative painting in oils. He likes to hint at a
story in his compositions, deriving inspiration from everyday
scenes; the impact of light on moving figures is especially apparent
in his work. David's work is widely known, and held in private
collections worldwide. |
