Franklyn J Scott was originally from Leicester but now lives and works nearby in Market Harborough. He attended Leicester College of Art in the 1960s, gaining an NDD (Graphics), returning some years later to achieve a Distinction in the Art Teachers Diploma.

After a varied career in commercial art and teaching, he now concentrates on his own work as a painter. His work is varied in subject and media, and he has had many commissions. He still finds time to teach both privately and for various educational establishments.
