Ivan Taylor was born in Staffordshire
and showed an early interest in art. He exhibited forty
paintings on BBC's TV series "Sketch Club" which were later sold by
the BBC to raise money for UNICEF. After studying Fine Art and
Graphics, Ivan worked as a graphic artist in industry and then
became Head of Graphics for Staffordshire County Council Education
Department.
Ivan had his first one-man exhibition
in 1972 and has been a full time painter since 1989, supplying
galleries in England, Wales, USA, Belgium and France. He has
fulfilled many commissions and has work in many private and some
public collections in the UK and abroad. His work has been
reproduced in the "Studio" publication and also put into print.
Ivan, who is President of the Society
of Staffordshire Artists, has had one man exhibitions in Dallas,
Texas and in London and he won the Rowland Hilder Prize at the R.I.
Open Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London in 2006. |
