James’ artistic career began with an interest in the Old Masters,
and his work has always been influenced by the use of Chiaroscuro to
create the tensions and atmospheres of his paintings.
Having a keen interest in literature and poetry, James is often
inspired to paint modern versions of scenes from the works of
Charlotte Bronte or Henry James, for example, or the poems of Thomas
Hardy and Emily Dickinson, amongst others.
James studied Fine Art at Canterbury in Kent, and his paintings
reside in collections worldwide. |
