John Brunsdon is a much-loved senior figure of the contemporary British art world.  Born in 1933 in Cheltenham, he studied at Cheltenham College of Art 1949-53 and the Royal College of Art 1955-58.  His book ‘The Technique of Etching and Engraving’ was published in 1965, and he has been painting all his adult life.

As well as numerous solo exhibitions throughout the UK, John’s work has also been shown in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, USA, Canada and Scandinavia.  Among many commissions, his work has been published by the Illustrated London News and the Council for the Protection of Rural Britain.
