Jonathan Pocock was born in 1967. After a foundation course at the Central School of Art & Design, he studied at St Martin’s School of Art 1986-90, and was awarded a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting. He describes his work as broadly traditional, in that all his paintings are observed from life and executed in oils. In his recent landscapes, brushes have given way to pallet knife, and detail has moved aside for a more direct response, resulting in paintings with a healthy and mature vocabulary that are both rich and exciting. Jonathan’s work has been exhibited extensively, and at some of London’s most prestigious galleries, including Francis Kyle, Ebury Galleries, The Albemarle Gallery and W H Patterson. He has also had one-man shows with Roy Miles and The Bruton Street Gallery, and has exhibited at the Wally Findlay Galleries in New York. |
