PHILIP RICHARDSON

Philip Richardson was born in Hertfordshire in 1951. Having taken an art foundation course at St Albans College of Art, he went on to be awarded a BA Hons at Liverpool College of Art 1971-74; his work was included in the degree show held at the Walker Gallery.

In 1979 Philip moved to Italy, where he was entranced by the countryside and committed himself to an artistic career as a landscape and still-life painter. In 1997 he moved from Italy to Spain where he now lives and works. He has been greatly influenced by the work of Cezanne, and has gone from strength to strength in portraying the light and colour of the Mediterranean landscape.

Philip’s work has by now deservedly achieved considerable recognition. His solo shows have included a series of exhibitions at Woodgates Gallery since 1996, at Enid Lawson Gallery since 1997 and at Highgate Fine Art since 1999.
