ROSA SEPPLE

Rosa Sepple RI was born in London of British and Italian parents, and spent several years in Italy as a child, living with her artist grandfather, Salvatore Casagrande. Returning to England, she married photographer Ed Sepple, and after raising two sons has resumed painting full time.

Rosa is self-taught, and her compositions have a refreshing spontaneity. She experiments continuously with watercolour, acrylic, gouache, ink and collage to produce textured surfaces and rich variations of colour and tone. Her figurative works combine ‘observation, memory and imagination’; she draws inspiration mainly from ordinary people and everyday experience, which she transforms and transports into a dream-like world of her own.

Rosa’s exhibition credits have included the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Royal Watercolour Society, the Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times competition and the Hunting prize at the Royal College of Art. Her work is in numerous private collections in the UK, Italy, France and the USA.
